Priory Adult Care is the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist adult care services. Our aim is to provide the right support in the right home for all the individuals we accommodate.
With community-based residential care settings, as well as a network of supported living services, we support adults over the age of 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and behaviours that challenge. We also offer a range of residential and nursing care settings for older people with varying levels of need.
Apple mews, based in Armagh, is one of Priory Adult cares specialist services, it is a modern, purpose built site; split into several bungalows with 5/6 residents in each bungalow. In total the site is home to 30 service users living with learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions. Each support worker is assigned to one bungalow, encouraging relationship building between staff and service users.

At Loughshore, we are developing our current PBS programme to support both our current service users and new admissions.
This role is a full time permanent position based at a new service.
The post holder will use their expertise to support predominantly in the following areas:
1. Staff training & development
2. Functional Behaviour Assessment
3. Behaviour Support Planning (BSP)
4. BSP implementation (including practice workshops)
5. Incident analysis & debrief
6. Meetings and supervision
7. Transitions
8. Liaising with MDT
The ideal candidate will: (Essential)
9. Hold BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities/ Applied Behaviour Analysis/ Psychology/Nursing/Occupational Therapy
10. Hold, or be working towards a formal qualification in: or Positive Behaviour Support i.e. PBS BTEC (advanced professional Diploma)
11. A full drivers’ licence.
Desirable Criteria:
12. Board associate Certified Behaviour Analyst status and/or MSc in Analysis and Intervention in Learning Disability is desirable, NOT essential
13. Be willing and able to work towards instructor level in PROACT SCIPr-UK
In addition, the candidate will be able to demonstrate:
14. A history of direct support experience with people with learning disabilities and/or ASC and Challenging Behaviour
15. A history in conducting assessment and developing, implementing and evaluating interventions for individuals presenting with Challenging Behaviours
16. A history of development and delivery of Positive Behaviour Support training
17. A history of working as part of a peripatetic team providing consultation to 'challenging behaviour' services (Remote only)
18. A history of reducing the use of restrictive practices
