The postholder will play a key role within a diverse and highly skilled team.
Job Purpose:
To assist the Repairs and Maintenance Operations in the smooth delivery of a quality customer-focused service. The successful applicant will be skilled in diagnosing and carrying out roofing repairs to flat and pitched roofs and promoting the Breyer Group PLC Brand.
Ideally, the candidate will demonstrate a primary trade background to ensure the experience will assist in ensuring a quality and efficient delivery; multi-trade experience would be an advantage. The candidate will ensure they are organized to carry out multiple calls per day as directed by the Operations team, ensuring efficient service within the service level agreements.
Main Duties:
You will have a varied workload, usually based from a local strategic site office but carrying out multiple visits to properties throughout various locations when conducting responsive repairs. Typical work activities include:
1. Day-to-day management of workload
2. Ensure all works are carried out safely and to an excellent quality standard
3. Updating PDA devices with work schedules and other key information as required
4. Maintaining our corporate image and service standards
5. Communicating with residents face-to-face
6. Addressing tenant issues and complaints effectively
7. Ensuring compliance with all necessary regulations, standards, and legal responsibilities relating to repair work and contractor compliance
8. Maintaining a quality right-first-time fix service
9. Managing stock within the van to minimize non-working time and managing larger material requirements
10. Ensuring effective and proactive delivery of service
11. Maintaining and delivering any documentation required to agreed standards and timescales
12. Working as an integral team member as well as a mentor and coach to apprentices
13. Making decisions using specialist experience
14. Supporting and managing delivery of health and safety policy and standards
15. Assisting in the identification of cost reduction opportunities
16. Participating in out-of-hours on-call system as required by the service
Person Specification:
Essential:
* Asbestos Awareness Training
* Full UK driving License
Desirable:
* SMSTS Health and Safety
* First Aid Trained
* CRB check preferred
* Multi Trade Discipline
Knowledge and Experience:
* Experience within the responsive maintenance environment
* At least 3 years of experience in roofing
* Experience in other multi-building trades advantageous
* Ability to operate a PDA device
* Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
* Excellent planning and organizational skills
* Basic understanding of schedule of rates
* Ability to communicate with management
