As Finance Manager – Accounting, you will play a key role in producing Warner Hotels’ management and statutory accounts. You will have end-to-end responsibility for the Balance Sheet and P&L, including recording month-end accounting transactions, explaining variances, and completing balance sheet reconciliations to identify risks and opportunities. You will collaborate with various Finance teams, including Accounts Payable, Banking & Revenue, Hotel Finance Operations, and FP&A, ensuring accuracy and control over the general ledger accounting. You will also manage the quarterly VAT, annual PSA, and statutory audit processes, ensuring compliance with the latest technical standards and maintaining robust financial controls. Key Responsibilities: Management Accounts: Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, including detailed variance commentary. Balance Sheet Control: Deliver monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the quarterly Risks & Opportunities schedule. Capex Process: Oversee the Warner Capex process, ensuring alignment with the latest company policies. Audit & Compliance: Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with auditing standards. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure financial alignment and support organizational goals. Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations. Team Management: Mentor and manage junior team members, fostering their development and growth. Process Improvements: Drive process enhancements to improve the efficiency and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. Expected Deliverables: Timely Month-End Reporting: Ensure month-end processes are completed within agreed timelines. EBITDA Insights: Provide financial insights to support the delivery of EBITDA targets. Balance Sheet Integrity: Maintain robust Balance Sheet control, with a focus on fixed assets. Essential Skills & Knowledge: Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of how financial decisions impact broader business strategy. Operational Awareness: Ability to interpret financial statements and reports accurately. Strategic Planning: Knowledge of forecasting, seasonality, and strategic planning processes. Internal Controls: Familiarity with internal control procedures to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly. Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying risks and opportunities to enhance financial processes. Stakeholder Collaboration: Ability to build strong relationships with operational leaders and cross-functional teams. Experience & Qualifications: Professional Certification: Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA). Industry Experience: Proven experience in management accounting within the hospitality sector or similar. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated success in working collaboratively across departments. Strategic Financial Planning: Experience in developing and implementing strategic financial plans aligned with business objectives. Technical Knowledge: TOMs VAT experience is an advantage. Familiarity with financial accounting systems (ERPx experience desirable). Up-to-date knowledge of FRS102.
