Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Procurement Specialist to join our team and contribute to the central management of the company’s procurement requirements. In this role, you will be instrumental in sourcing suppliers, building strategic partnerships, and ensuring the smooth flow of our supply chain, all while optimising costs and maintaining high quality.
You will work closely with internal teams and suppliers, ensuring adherence to company standards, processes and compliance with procurement best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Sourcing and Partnership Development: Identify, assess, and develop supplier relationships to ensure value and resilience in the supply chain.
Category Management: Assist in driving category management strategies to optimise procurement across various product and service categories.
Purchase Order Processing and Supplier Management: Negotiate and manage purchase orders with approved suppliers, ensuring alignment with project delivery schedules, inventory needs, and budget constraints.
Process Streamlining: Establish and document procurement best practices across functions, improving overall efficiency and transparency.
Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory levels to align with demand forecasts and operational needs.
Risk Management and Compliance: Conduct supplier risk assessments, due diligence, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
Supplier Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with suppliers to ensure efficient lead times, product availability, and beneficial terms.
Cost and Quality Control: Monitor and track purchases to ensure adherence to budget guidelines, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality standards.
Customs and Logistics Management: Oversee customs documentation and develop strong relationships with customs handlers for the smooth importation of goods.
Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive improvements in procurement processes, systems, and strategies.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Knowledge / experience of using MRP systems
Experience using Epicor advantageous
Adaptability to move with the changing business environment
