HV Commissioning Engineer / AP Midlands – South
To £57000 basic + Car Allowance / Van + Paid Overtime + Pension (7%)

Our client is searching for a talented professional to join the Engineering team, providing high quality installation, maintenance, and support services for HV assets across private networks in the Midlands and South of the country. You will be part of a highly skilled Engineering division who values teamwork, innovation, and a flexible work-life balance.
Overview
1. Innovate: Install, commission, and troubleshoot both new and existing protection systems, automatic transfer systems and control systems
2. Lead: Coordinate commissioning plans, schedules, and performance testing, ensuring efficiency and quality
3. Excel: Develop and refine commissioning procedures, ensuring technical compliance and quality control
4. Test: Utilise advanced testing equipment for commissioning and testing various HV assets
5. Collaborate: Work closely with a team of skilled Engineers, SAPs/ AP’s and support staff, fostering a safe and productive work environment
Key Responsibilities:
1. Reading and understanding complex electrical drawings and relay logic design documentation
2. Producing clear, professional job reports
3. Ensuring compliance with safety management systems and client safety rules
4. Providing technical advice and customer communications to support tendering and project managers
5. Maintaining authorisations and adhering to industry best practices
Essential Requirements:
1. Proven experience in the Electrical and Distribution Industry
2. Electrical Authorisation; private network, UKPN, DNO
3. Electrical Engineering qualification and certification; 18th edition / 2391
4. Strong knowledge of H&S and Distribution Safety rules
5. Computer literacy, particularly in MS Office
6. Willingness to travel within the UK and work occasional overtime at weekends
