Job Description
We are recruiting a Coxswain who will have overall command of the vessel and day to day liaison with the customer.
Your Main Tasks:
* To be in command of vessel as required; Safely navigate/ handle vessel in all conditions and locations
* Optimise the dredging process or survey process
* Maintain the vessel including engines (if applicable) reporting defects to the technical department
* Assist customers in their requirements and requests where possible
* Pay due consideration to the safety of fellow workers on your shift
* Promote a good atmosphere during the watch
* Ascertain if any maintenance is required with respect to the dredging equipment
* Carry out emergency repairs on your watch
* Keep track of consumption of spare and replacement parts
* Ensure compliance with the policies set out by the Company
Required Knowledge and Experience to make your mark:
Essential
* Master Workboat <200T AND/OR MCA Endorsed RYA Yachtmaster Offshore
* AEC 1
* ENG1
Desirable
* Basic vocational education level of practical and intellectual ability
* Knowledge of dredging process
* Knowledge of and experience with navigation and anchoring under circumstances specific to the dredging process
* Knowledge and experience with the systems on the vessel
* Knowledge of the theory of survey process (if applicable)
* Keep the knowledge acquired up to date by following the in-house training courses and refresher courses
* Knowledge of special boat techniques: cranes, ropes, tackles, and maintenance on deck
* Good Command of the English language (both written and verbal)
* Knowledge of dimensioning techniques
* Basic knowledge of positioning systems and the possibilities of survey applications.
* Basic knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations and of the Plant Management System
* Knowledge of the applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulations
* Practical Experience with an insight into the operation of equipment, auxiliary equipment
* Basic knowledge of computer applications (standard)
