St Mary's Veterinary Clinic is excited to announce the opening of a Veterinary Care Assistant position. This role is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about animal care who want to pursue a rewarding career in veterinary nursing.
About the Role
This is a probationary role to progress to the Student Veterinary Nurse Apprentice Course in September 2025. The course will be on a day-release basis: 4 days will be spent gaining hands-on experience in practice, and 1 day a week will be spent in college. The course takes approximately 3 years and culminates in qualification as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist veterinary surgeons and nurses in providing excellent care to animals.
2. Carry out daily cleaning and maintenance of the clinic.
3. Handle and monitor animals, providing them with the highest standards of care.
4. Assist in various tasks as needed to ensure the smooth running of the clinic.

Required Qualifications & Skills
1. 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 or above, including English Language, Mathematics, and three additional subjects.

4. You will be a resilient person, able to provide deep passion for our clients and their pets in an emotional environment.
