Thermal & Electrical Test Engineer

Rate: £28 per hour
Duration: Initially 6 months

Certain Advantage is working in partnership with a large engineering company that operates within the aerospace industry and is currently seeking an experienced Thermal & Electrical Test Engineer. You will be responsible for undertaking a full range of engineering activities within the Environmental test and Electrical test skill areas, where the primary role is to configure and undertake test operations on space equipment.
What will you be doing:
1. Run Tests - Use of facilities to achieve test specification requirements.
2. Design and manufacture of bespoke test setups.
3. Mechanical operations on test facilities to support desired test setup.
4. Review and analysis of post-test data.
5. Compiling of test data, producing test certification and reports.
6. Responsible for the production of local documentation.
7. Maintain test instrumentation, facilities, and equipment.
8. Liaise with internal and external customers about their projects.
A little bit about you:
1. Working knowledge within test environment.
2. Knowledge of the electrical/mechanical testing of high value high precision assemblies.
3. Understanding and practical application of Health & Safety regulations.
4. Experience in a bespoke test and manufacturing environment within the electrical/mechanical industries under high quality control.
5. Computer Literacy - especially in Microsoft office software.
6. Engineering knowledge - the ability to understand and use both mechanical and electrical formulae.
7. Understanding of technical documents (drawings, procedures, technical notes).
8. Knowledge of Electrical test techniques/systems & Space environmental conditions in a test environment.
9. Working Knowledge of Cryo-cooler systems.
10. Knowledge of Thermal Vacuum techniques/systems & Space environmental conditions in a test environment.
During an interview, we may ask you about:
1. Vibration, Shock, Vacuum & Climatic test techniques/systems.
2. Test & Measurement Instrumentation methods.
3. Your knowledge of signal processing/analysis.
