Main duties of the job
* NHS Health Checks & new patient health checks
* ECG recording
* Urinalysis and specimen processing
* Blood pressure recording
* B12, Flu, Pneumococcal, Shingles & COVID vaccinations
* Diabetes checks including foot checks
* Pre-diabetes and diet/lifestyle advice
* Defib and emergency equipment checks
* Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording.
* Re-stocking consulting rooms
* Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor surgery
About us
We are a large, innovative teaching practice in Huddersfield, with a list size of nearly 16,000 patients. Our surgery is modern and friendly and continuously strives to provide an excellent standard of care for our patients.
We have a team of around 35 clinical and non-clinical staff members. Our clinical team comprises GPs, ANPs, PAs, Practice Nurses, HCAs, pharmacists and PCN staff. Our non-clinical team provide management, administration, and reception services.
Job responsibilities
To assist the clinical team in the service and delivery of care to the practice population. The post holder will work under the supervision of our Matron, undertaking tasks and duties delegated by the clinical team.
They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of the patients, ensuring that practice policies and procedures are followed.
They will also assist management with duties related to CQC and QOF outcomes, ensuring that compliance is maintained in areas such as cold chain and infection control.

* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
* Care certificate
* Blood Pressure
* ECG's
* Wound care
* Vaccinations including flu and B12
Experience
* Experience of working within a nursing team is desirable but not essential.
* Experience of working in primary care and using system one is desirable but not essential.
* Car Driver is desirable
