Brownfield Modifications Project Engineer
* Comply with all P&E, Operations and HSE&Q principles, policies and procedures. Specific examples include GOIMS, P&E Governance, Lessons Learned.
* Ensure all modifications are undertaken in accordance with the Brownfield Modifications Process.
Brownfield Modification (BFM) lifecycle:
* Interfacing with the onshore and offshore Operations Leadership Team to identify key improvement opportunities. Ensure that all potential opportunities receive the appropriate level of assessment, scrutiny and endorsement from key stakeholders.
* Once BFM has been approved in the Feasibility stage, this role is responsible for writing the SOR that defines the Operational requirement and benefits that will be realised. The SOR will be the key document and is reviewed by the technical authorities for comment.
* Provide as required input to cost estimates and operations, engineering contractor and integrated plans.
* Responsible for ensuring the engineering contractor basis of design has captured requirements from statement of requirements.
* Responsible for ensuring that any changes identified as the scope develops are captured; this role ensures that the changes still meet the SOR requirements and that the SOR is updated as necessary. SOR is a live document.
* In conjunction with operations and project planners, maintain detailed and accurate schedule, including identification of critical path activities, and provide focus on critical activities within operations and contractors schedule, specifically ensuring offshore operations resource requests are assessed and planned with input from Head of Operations and Maintenance Manager.
* Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
* This role is responsible for the progression of all BFMs through the Feasibility, Select and Define stages, supported by the BFM team as required. This role participates in the development of long-term planning (5 year plan) as well as development, agreement and approval of the annual worklist and budget. Ensure Operational risks and opportunities are identified and TQs raised to initiate brownfield modifications to mitigate the risks. Accountable and responsible as the operations focal point for all TQs raised, ensuring timely progression and resolution of each TQ. Facilitate a monthly TQ review meeting within Operations and involving P&E as appropriate. Operations representative for Interface between Operations, Projects & Engineering and Engineering Contractor.
* Participate in the engineering contractor performance (KPIs) meetings.
* In conjunction with Brownfield Modification Project Engineer and Cost Engineer, contribute to cost reviews, spend forecasting and estimating.
* Proactively contribute to timely and effective collaboration across internal and external stakeholder groups.
Experience & Qualifications:
* Projects and engineering background with strong operation exposure.
* Preferably Degree qualified with relevant experience in both projects and operations.
* Be able to demonstrate commitment to safety, led by example.
* Current working knowledge of Project Management, guidance and legislation, as it is applied by an E&P operator in the UK.
* Excellent and efficient organisational skills.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Flexibility and willingness to adapt being essential.
* Ability to work on own initiative with self-imposed quality control standards.
* Ability to work to deadlines.
