Ensure safeguarding concerns are appropriately managed, using local safeguarding procedures to ensure the safety of all infants within the Neonatal Community caseload. Highly developed communication skills enabling maintenance of high quality service and ensuring timely management and resolution of unexpected events and situations. A knowledgeable team member, supporting staff, service and policy development within Neonatal Outreach; a resource for staff, advising on national, local and trust policy and procedures/guidelines, ensuring that clinical governance is embedded in practice. Support the Clinical Nurse Specialist in identifying and assessing complex clinical and non-clinical issues, implementing resolutions and monitoring/auditing outcomes. Will conduct regular audit to evaluate the service development. Organisation of interdepartmental/organisational activities including HR, resources, budget management, risk and issue management, complaints, patient flow and acting up as appropriate. Participation in development, education and training of staff and service in an identified area through appraisal and business planning cycles. Utilise and ensure others utilise IT systems to secure accurate and timely patient, workforce and resource data available. Promote and monitor adherence to Health and Safety and Trust policy designed to protect healthcare staff and service users from known hazards. To support and maintain a comprehensive communication network between the 3 neonatal Units, the MDTs involved and Childrens Community nursing team. Participate in local and national nursing events in order to gain further knowledge and share good practice, with potential to report at local and national level.
