Post Title: Centre Manager
Hours: 30 hours per week (5 days over 7 days - covering staff leave/sickness where appropriate)
Rate of Pay: £14.50 per hour
Location: 19 Gomer street, Willenhall WV13 2NS
Responsible to: Board of Directors
Main Purpose of the Job:
The Centre Manager is responsible for assisting the Deputy Manager and staff with compliance across the organisation, particularly monitoring compliance and ensuring staff receive effective supervision, monitoring, and inductions.
The Centre Manager supports the Deputy Manager and team in achieving the aims and objectives of the Company and maintaining the quality of service provided to the local community in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures.
The Centre Manager will liaise with the Deputy Manager weekly to develop ideas and strategies to tackle issues and improve provision in the Chart Centre. The Centre Manager will report to the Board of Directors, bringing required documentation and ensuring all communications are clear and effective.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Conduct weekly inspections in Chart, perform quality checks inside and outside the building, and appropriate assessments for all new projects.
2. Oversee the daily operations of the organisation, including adequate staffing and resources.
3. Complete quality audits within Chart to generate reports relevant to the organisation and ensure staff are informed where appropriate.
4. Deliver quality services to the local community and ensure all activities meet community needs, comply with health & safety regulations, and follow centre policies and procedures.
5. Conduct reviews of the organisation, including updating the Development Plan, relevant Risk Assessments, and documentation such as policies and procedures as appropriate.
6. Conduct observations within Chart, including staff supervision, appraisals, and probationary meetings.
7. Communicate effectively with office staff and other internal and external stakeholders as required and attend meetings relevant to service delivery for the centre.
8. Implement quality control procedures and processes to ensure the organisation achieves the required level of compliance as a registered charity and limited company.
9. Ensure all legislation, policies, and procedures are adhered to.
10. Maintain the environment and cleanliness of the centre and its appearance to the highest standards.
11. Review and address emails daily.
12. Ensure monitoring and funding returns are submitted in a timely manner.
13. Ensure compliance with Safeguarding regulations and deliver training to staff.
14. Recruit staff for various roles within the organisation, ensuring adherence to unconscious bias in recruitment.
15. Conduct unannounced checks at any time throughout the day or evening to ensure centre compliance and staff performance.
16. Attend meetings that support and enhance the provision at the centre and for the community.
17. Cover the centre as required for staff sickness and holidays to ensure business continuity.
18. Undertake other duties as requested by your Line Manager that are part of the role applied for.
1. Attention To Detail
1. Comply with the Standards and legislation governing the Chart Centre and other regulations concerning the provision of services.
2. Represent the company professionally in all communications and maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Company's Confidentiality Policy.
3. Monitor the centre to ensure it meets quality targets and contractual requirements, informing Directors of outcomes and issues.
4. Report to the Directors any compliance or standards issues concerning services and staff.
5. Check staff daily on all relevant paperwork, health and safety, compliance, standards, and environmental issues. Maintain daily log notes by staff.
6. Conduct spot checks and health and safety checks at the direction of the Directors.
7. Supervise staff performance through regular supervisions, inductions, and probation reviews.
8. Maintain accurate records and data.
9. Manage budgets and other financial duties, including financial reports to the Board of Directors.
2. QUALITY ASSURANCE
1. Ensure compliance with agreed processes and procedures across Chart.
2. Propose new ideas to improve standards and liaise with Company Directors to devise new systems and processes.
3. Impact the planning, implementation, and review of internal inspection activity.
4. Monitor non-compliance and lead on addressing this with staff, documenting and communicating issues to the Directors.
HEALTH & SAFETY
1. Familiarize with the Company's obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant regulations.
2. Complete online Health and Safety training.
3. Keep Company Directors informed of outcomes and issues regarding Health and Safety.
ADMINISTRATIVE
1. Ensure documents are kept and filed according to company GDPR and data protection policies.
2. Delegate duties to staff effectively to minimize workload.
3. Perform any required administrative duties as part of the role.

1. Minimum of two years’ experience managing a community organisation, registered charity, and company limited by guarantee at a level reflecting the responsibilities of the post.
