About the Role
We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our premises, staff, and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach to surveillance and loss prevention, ensuring that all security protocols are adhered to at all times.
Main Duties
* Monitor and patrol designated areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or tampering.
* Operate and maintain CCTV systems to ensure comprehensive surveillance coverage.
* Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, conducting investigations as necessary.
* Provide first aid assistance when required, ensuring the safety of individuals on site.
* Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary and prepare detailed incident reports.
* Implement loss prevention strategies to minimise theft and damage to property.
* Maintain a visible presence to deter potential criminal activity and reassure staff and visitors.
* Conduct regular inspections of security equipment and report any malfunctions or issues.
Requirements
* Previous experience in security or a related field is preferred but not essential.
* Knowledge of CCTV operation, surveillance techniques, and loss prevention strategies is advantageous.
* Certification in first aid is desirable; training may be provided for the right candidate.
* Strong observational skills with the ability to remain alert and focused during shifts.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective reporting and collaboration.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
* A valid driver’s licence may be required depending on the location of duties.
