As a Buyer, you will play a vital role in helping the company maintain its reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials and services required for ongoing residential developments.
* You will negotiate directly with suppliers, ensuring competitive prices and favourable terms that meet the budgetary needs of the projects.
* The role of Buyer involves maintaining close relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to guarantee timely delivery and minimize any potential project delays.
* Collaborating with site managers and project teams, the Buyer ensures that all materials meet project specifications and deadlines.
* The Buyer will also review stock levels, ensuring an efficient and cost-effective procurement process while adhering to project schedules.
* It’s important that the Buyer stays updated on new materials, product innovations, and changes in the construction industry to ensure the best sourcing strategies are used.
* You will be tasked with monitoring supplier performance, addressing any discrepancies or issues that may arise to ensure the project runs smoothly.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Buyer, preferably within the house building or in the construction sector.
* In-depth understanding of procurement processes and contract negotiation, with a focus on sourcing materials for residential construction projects.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, ensuring that the Buyer can forge lasting relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time procurement.
* Relevant qualifications, such as a degree in procurement, construction management, or business, would be advantageous.
* Full UK Driving License and the right to work in the UK.
