Job summary Due to retirements and our growing list size, we have opportunities for two enthusiastic GP Assistants (GPA) to join our Practice team. We are seeking highly motivated and skilled GP Assistants to join our team at Grimston Medical Centre. The successful candidates will work alongside our GPs to support the smooth running of clinics and provide high-quality patient care. We are offering a salary depending on experience and NHS pension. These are part time positions, hours to be approximately 18 - 20 hours per week each. You will receive training and support to develop your professional career with us. General Practice experience is desirable but not essential as training will be given. We are looking for candidates who are organised, self-motivated, good communicators and adaptable. Main duties of the job The ideal candidates will have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills. They will work alongside our Practice team. Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Sorting clinical post and Workflow Management. Extracting information from clinical letters that need coding; adding this to patient notes. Supporting with QOF reviews. Arranging patient recalls and appointments: blood tests and chronic disease clinics Completing basic (non-opinion) forms and core elements of some forms for the GP to approve and sign, such as insurance forms, benefits agency forms, etc. Helping the GP liaise with outside agencies, e.g., getting an on-call doctor on the phone to ask advice or arrange admission while the GP can continue with their consultation(s). Explaining treatment procedures to patients. (If needed further training to be provided) Completing simple clinical observations. Our clinical team includes 3 GP Partners, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and a team of Nurses and Health Care Assistants.
