Job Title: Interim - Subject Access Request Administrator
Type: Contract, Self-employed.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, up to 35 hours per week – office based
Location: Bristol, City Centre BS1
Reporting to: Operations Director
About the role
As the Subject Access Request Administrator, you will be responsible for processing the Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) from clients, business partners, and companies. You will ensure they are managed and handled in a timely manner and completed within the legal timeframe, complying with legislation to avoid any breaches.
This role would suit an individual who understands and values the importance of attention to detail and who can deliver high-quality work within agreed timescales. You must be comfortable working on your own initiative and confident in escalating concerns to the Operations Director.
What you'll be doing
* Managing and supporting the full lifecycle of a DSAR request.
* Informing and advising clients and organisations of their obligations.
* Ensuring all assigned DSARs are completed within agreed timeframes.
* Applying appropriate redactions/exemptions as outlined in the Data Protection Act.
* Managing client and company expectations.
* Maintaining a DSAR log.
* Producing reports and information summaries on completed DSARs.
* Keeping up to date with changes in data protection law and regulations.
* Supporting the development of internal processes to streamline service delivery.
* Handling sensitive and complex requests, ensuring all correspondence and disclosures are timely, accurate, and compliant with relevant legislation, regulations, and policies.
Skills and experience
To be successful, you should be able to demonstrate your ability to meet the demands of a DSAR request and prioritise effectively while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate their experience in the following areas:
* Knowledge and experience in dealing with the full lifecycle of DSAR requests.
* The ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, trust, and credibility.
* Capability of dealing with complex issues using problem-solving skills.
* Highly responsive with a can-do attitude and flexible working style.
* Knowledge of the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
* Commercial awareness around understanding, managing, and navigating client expectations.
* Project management skills to successfully manage and prioritise multiple DSARs.
* Ideally, a data protection qualification or experience in the financial sector.
