Our two-year Retail graduate programme will ensure you gain a breadth of valuable retail experience early in your career. You’ll have the opportunity to work in different store formats, from our small Express stores to our large Extra stores, as well as a Distribution Centre (DC) or Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC). Through diverse placements, plus a head office project, you’ll see how different parts of the business work hand-in-hand to serve customers a little better every day.
Colleagues in our stores are making a difference for customers with a friendly, flexible approach, while DC and CFC colleagues make sure customers can get the right products, at the right time, and at the level of quality they’ve come to expect from us. As a Retail graduate, you’ll be understanding what matters for our customers and inspiring a team of colleagues to put customers at the heart of everything we do. We’ll support you in gaining vital management skills to help you lead and develop your team.
Serving millions of customers a week in our stores, our graduate roles aren’t just about having a passion for our products and motivating a team to deliver complex tasks! It’s about understanding what matters for our customers and communities to put them at the heart of everything we do.
During your programme, you’ll first start off by spending time in our small and large stores getting to know our different departments, learning our routines and processes, and getting hands on experience to understand how we run our stores. We’ll then provide you with all the leadership development training you’ll need to get stuck in, overcome daily challenges and take on your first leadership responsibility, plus you’ll have a mentor on hand to support you all the way.
As you move through the programme, you’ll gain a breadth of valuable retail experience as you look at how different parts of our business operate, from working in our fulfilment centres and support office, to working in one of our transformation teams or being part of our distribution team.
By the end of your programme you will have gained all the necessary skills and knowledge you need to set you up for success to become a store manager. Once you become a store manager your journey doesn’t stop there, as this gives a great foundation to accelerate your career to become a senior leader in our business.
Working in our stores, DCs and CFCs
For each of your three roles, we’ll place you in a store, DC or CFC that maximises your opportunity for development. To support you getting a breadth of experience, you might need to re-locate after six months, and again after your first year.
