What you'll do
The role holder will be responsible for the development of reporting capabilities and enhanced data-accessibility across the wider International business through proactive identification of requirements and delivery of user-friendly solutions. You will adopt best-in-class practices for development of reporting and provide ongoing support to relevant business areas, helping the community build the best-in-class International knowledge base. Over time, there is likely to be more demand for advanced analytics in International, so previous experience in an analytics role will be advantageous.
* Build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholder groups.
* Enhance reporting capabilities through best-in-class practices and user-friendly solutions.
* Provide ongoing support to relevant business areas and work alongside the report engineering team based in India.
* Support the Reporting Manager on upskilling across the International business through learning sessions, huddles and other activities.
* Work independently to lead reporting projects and initiatives from scoping to delivery, including operational maintenance.
* Proactively identify report enhancement opportunities, evaluate various initiatives through data-driven approaches, and support long-term strategies.
* Autonomously work with stakeholders to collate and deliver or action business requirements in the reporting space.
* Contribute towards the development of our data systems, processes, and report production to improve efficiency and effectiveness of our insight. Take a proactive approach to improving data quality in International, utilising data quality and data management tools and information.
* Validate data flows, flag and action issues identified and follow up with relevant stakeholders.
Who you are
* Experienced in building reporting solutions, including creative problem solving, analytical and numeric skills within relevant business context, with an understanding of reporting best practices supporting scalable data solutions.
* Advanced Power BI (or other) dashboard and report building experience.
* Demonstrable SQL skills in querying complex data sets and an understanding of data warehousing concepts.
* Python coding skills will be advantageous, albeit not essential.
* Experience of working with retail-oriented datasets.
* Can tell a story through data. Practical ability to communicate and present complex information to non-technical audiences, with experience of taking a leading role in data and analytics solutions when working with key stakeholders.
* Ability to initiate and build strong relationships, influencing stakeholders and wider team members.
* Familiarity with Marks & Spencer data systems and reporting requirements is highly desirable.
