Location: Exeter
Salary: £55,000 – £75,000 per annum DoE
The Role
An established consultancy is seeking an experienced Associate/Associate Director Structural Engineer to head up their structures team in their Exeter branch. The role will involve delivering innovative design solutions across a range of sectors, including residential, commercial, mixed-use, and industrial projects. You will lead and manage complex structural designs, ensuring technical excellence and sustainable outcomes from concept to construction.
You will also play a key role in the growth and shaping of the structures team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead structural design projects across diverse sectors.
2. Develop and review detailed design documentation, calculations, and specifications.
3. Coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts to ensure integrated project delivery.
4. Ensure compliance with design standards and industry best practices.
5. Manage project budgets, timelines, and risk assessments.
6. Mentor and supervise junior engineers, fostering professional growth.
7. Contribute to business development initiatives and client relationship management.
Requirements
1. Degree qualified or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 10 years’ post-qualification experience in engineering.
3. Experience working on residential projects, alongside commercial, mixed-use, or industrial schemes.
4. Chartered (or working towards chartership) with a recognised professional institution (e.g., ICE, IStructE).
5. Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and structural analysis tools.
6. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
7. Full UK driving licence.
