Main duties of the job
As a Health Care Assistant you will be:
Supporting individuals with all aspects of their daily living needs
1. Assisting in the delivery of support to individuals who may present with behaviour that challenges
2. Maintaining a healthy and safe environment for individuals, alongside current organisational policies and procedures
3. Providing person centred care to enable individuals to make choices and live as independently as possible
4. Required to work on a shift basis over a 24-hour period, including weekends and bank holidays. Flexible working will be considered

10. To support registered nurses in the implementation of a high standard of patient care promoting patient wellbeing ensuring a Person Centred Approach.
11. Report any concerns or problems to supervising nurse, particularly relating to individual patient safety
12. Ensure patients confidentiality is maintained at all times and be aware of the need for safe, plus secure storage of records.
13. Participate as a member of the nursing team in delivery and monitoring of individual care/treatment plans and report changes to the qualified nurse as appropriate
14. Carry out assigned tasks to meet the direct care needs of each patient. Report any concerns or abnormal changes in patients physical or mental well-being to a registered nurse.
15. Be aware of and follow general care routine within area, with particular reference to patients who present a high risk.
16. Assist patients in meeting health, social, leisure and spiritual needs
17. Ensure that all patients are afforded due respect, dignity and privacy
Person Specification
QUALIFICATION
Essential
18. GCSE English / Maths or equivalent
19. NVQ level 2 in health / social care or equivalent
20. Care Certificate
21. Best Practice in Dementia (or equivalent)
KNOWLEDGE
Essential
22. Previous care experience WITHIN HEALTH OR SOCIAL CARE
23. Previous mental health / dementia care experience- minimum 6 months
