Job summary
We require a knowledgeable and self-motivated Information Governance professional with recent comprehensive knowledge of Information Governance, preferably in an NHS environment.
You will be looking to build on your experience and knowledge of data protection and IG assurance, working in a supportive team environment. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, enjoy working as part of a dynamic team, providing administrative support and professional expertise in a dynamic consultancy environment.
This role will support the processing of Subject Access Requests, together with delivery of various IG consultancy assignments, which could be internal or for our customers across health and care systems.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is part of a team whose overarching goal is to be a valued strategic partner, offering an assured, reliable and expert Information Governance Service to ensure SCW and its customers are compliant with health sector requirements and statutory obligations.
As Senior Information Governance Officer you will use your IG knowledge and experience to provide high quality support to our organisation and customers. Activities include NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit support, processing of Subject Access Requests and project tasks including collecting, reporting and analysis of information to support the delivery of services to SCW and our partners.
Job responsibilities
1. Provide support and assistance in the successful delivery of services internally and externally whilst supporting various work programmes and projects.
2. Participate in relevant working groups/projects, services, and initiatives which may be highly complex, sensitive, political, and contain contentious information with the aim of providing information and analytical advice to the teams.
3. Liaise with our customers and SCW colleagues to ensure all Subject Access Requests (SARs) made under the General Data Protection regulations (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA18) are managed, information is collected, reviewed and redacted as appropriate, and that the legal deadline for responding to SARs is met.
4. Manage and prioritise all incoming and outgoing correspondence, initiating responses and drafting where appropriate while demonstrating high levels of precision, discretion and confidentiality.
