Trainee Rental Prep-Technician
Reports to: Operations Coordinator
Based: Niclen UK – Unit 5, Crest Distribution Park, Crest Road, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, HP11 1UA (from October 2023)
Job Purpose(s):
To be a key part of our warehouse team: preparing, de-prepping and assisting with the operations of our warehouse team with fulfilling our customer rental orders and maintaining our stock.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities (Prep-Technician):
1. Preparing and maintaining our stock for dry-hires.
2. Testing and servicing work on lights, rigging and sound equipment.
3. Fault-finding, and making simple repairs.
4. Assisting in the movement of equipment around the warehouse.
5. Being physically fit is important, as you may be expected to frequently handle products weighing up to 25kg by yourself or in excess of this with another team member.
6. Communicating with couriers and delivery/collection drivers arriving at Niclen UK to collect or return equipment.
7. Checking equipment in and out of our stock control system.
8. The safe loading and unloading of vehicles.
9. Being a friendly face of Niclen UK, often being the person that the warehouse teams of our customers meet.
Person Specification:
1. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
2. Honest and trustworthy.
3. An interest in Lighting/Sound/Video or rigging equipment.
4. Technical/Mechanical brain – naturally curious how things all go together.
5. Confident and keen to see things through to completion.
6. Ability to work within a fast-moving environment.
7. Able to work to tight deadlines.
8. Great problem-solving skills.
9. Preference to work in tidy and safe environments with ability to encourage others.
10. Able to perform manual handling – e.g. assisting with loading vans.
11. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Outlook.
12. Full UK driving licence (ideally).
13. To be trained in and be competent at loading and unloading vehicles (training can be provided).
14. Able to move and lift heavy objects.
15. Forklift license (Desirable, training can be provided).
Hours: 8.00-5.30, Monday to Friday (1 Hour lunch break)
Salary range: dependant on skills and experience, overtime available, plus workplace pension.
Terms: This is a permanent full-time post.
The offer is subject to a probation period of 6 months and successful DBS check.
Holiday entitlement for full-time employees is 22 days per annum plus bank holidays.
