About the Role Our Energy Systems and Investment Team play a pivotal role in the achievement of net zero. This is via the scale-up of renewable energy, zero carbon heat, energy storage and demand reduction programmes to meet net zero targets and contribute to a fairer energy system for Oxfordshire. The Energy Systems Lead will manage the development of Local Area Energy Plans identifying low carbon technologies needed in communities, optimising energy flexibility and maximising local benefits. The post will work with a wide range of partners including Oxfordshire councils, gas and electricity network operators, our commercial partners, universities and community energy companies to support the move to a local area energy planning approach at a variety of scales. The post will also work closely with many different areas within the County Council. About you You’ll be an effective manager, have technical expertise related to energy systems and a strong track record of project management and partnership working. You'll have experience of working in a convening role ideally in a local authority context.
