OTDT Product Centre focussed on Organ Donations, the IT team helps us support Organ Transplantation safely from end to end, from donation through to processing, transplantation and post-transplant follow-up. NHS Blood and Transplant has an exciting opportunity for an Oracle PL/SQL Developer to join our in-house development team working in a friendly and progressive environment based in Bristol. The successful Developer will be responsible for the analysis, design and development of new and existing applications. Youll have good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and creatively when resolving problems. The candidate must have a passion for innovation and a can-do attitude to creating new software systems. Main duties of the job In this role you will be responsible for design, develop and maintain NHSBT software systems and databases, covering all stages of the software development lifecycle.Your responsibilities will include: Assisting NHSBT staff in the preparation of requirements and technical specifications, and to produce and maintain documentation to accepted professional standards. Performing research and development in the latest tools, technologies and platforms to support the NHSBT. Facilitating the integration of new solutions with existing NHSBT systems. To keep up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices to support the Team Leader, Systems Developer and other Senior Developers. To provide 24/7 support for all application software and database services, directly communicating with customer groups to resolve issues while overcoming potential barriers to understanding in sensitive or challenging situations. To ensure appropriate documentation and change control procedures are followed as applications are developed and modified.
