Job overview
Applications in this case are welcomed for a Consultant post in Clinical Haematology (General Haematology) with a sub-specialty in Lymphoma.
This is a full time (10 PA) appointment based at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston which includes on-call provision. We have additional Lead Roles such as Head of Service for Haematology which are available at different times based on a 3-year fixed term post in addition to the Consultant role.
Main duties of the job
Base - Pilgrim Hospital, Boston
Responsibilities:
* The Clinical Haematology service comprises all Haematology/Oncology, general haematology, and haemostasis and thrombosis referrals for investigation, diagnosis and treatment.
* There is additional responsibility for investigation and advice on the management of patients with haematological problems from all other areas including ante-natal serology.
* This includes a bone marrow biopsy service for patients not under the direct care of the haematologists.
Person specification
Clinical Skill
* FRCPath or equivalent
* Full GMC and Specialist registration
Experience
* Extensive experience and training in general haematology
* Experience of involvement in clinical research and audit
* Specialist interest and expertise in lymphoma
Skills
* Communication and able to work as part of MDT
Special Requirements
* Commitment to further development of haematology service
* Commitment to maintain own education to a minimum standard set by the RCPath
