This is a part-time clinical psychologist role at Pinhoe View, a 36-bed acute inpatient hospital in Exeter, where you will lead the psychology department and work alongside the multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centered care. You will assess, plan, and implement evidence-based interventions to support the recovery of service users.
Main duties of the job
As a clinical psychologist, you will be responsible for assessing referrals, providing initial assessments, and undertaking high-quality direct and indirect psychological interventions. You will work therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, using a range of structured psychometric and semi-structured clinical methods. You will formulate and implement plans of specialist psychological treatment or management based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence-based best practice. You will maintain high standards of care and be professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of your clinical work and care.

You will lead the psychology department and work alongside members of the Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) to offer patient-centred care, implementing daily, meaningful activities which can support recovery.
This entails competently assessing unwell service users, including completing assessments, planning and implementing person-centred interventions and the ongoing evaluation of their care and treatment.
You will be required to oversee the provision of the psychology service, as well as supporting the team in facilitating assessment and formulation interventions and psychology groups in collaboration with the team.

As a Psychologist you will be:
* Participating in the assessment of referrals, and providing initial assessment for service users referred to the service.
* Undertaking high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions.
* Working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertaking assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi-structured clinical methods.
* Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients’ mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence-based best practice.
* Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.
* Maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice and in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines, and Company Policies and Procedures.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* BPS recognized psychology degrees
* HCPC registration
* Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
* Experience applying psychological knowledge in a clinical setting
* Experience working with clients with cognitive deficits
* Previous experience conducting research and project work
