At Mondelez International, we’ve created an Engineering/Manufacturing Degree Apprenticeship that allows you to study for a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering while gaining valuable hands-on experience with a leading global snacking company.
As one of the world’s largest snack manufacturers, we are home to iconic brands like Cadbury Dairy Milk, Toblerone, and Oreo, with a presence in over 150 countries.
This program is perfect for aspiring Process/Plant Engineers who want to combine the best of both worlds: earning a salary while studying for a degree and learning how a global business operates. You’ll receive classroom-based training backed by real-world experience, all supported by mentors and buddies to guide you along the way.
What’s involved?
As part of our Manufacturing & Engineering teams, you’ll work in and around our production sites, gaining practical skills and experience within the UK’s largest manufacturing sector—food production.
Over four years, you’ll complete four rotations, each providing insight into different aspects of our operations. From designing and problem-solving to mastering processes like wrapping 600 chocolate bars a minute or supplying consistent hot water to our cooking lines, you’ll develop the knowledge and expertise to excel in a fast-moving, exciting environment.

Degree: BEng in Professional Engineering (Science Industry Process/Plant Engineer)
University: Aston University
Work and Study Split:
You will typically spend 4 days a week based at our Bournville site (home of Cadbury) and 1 day per week for study / at university. You must be flexible to be based at one of our amazing sites across UK & Ireland for up to 2 of your 12-month rotations, including Chirk, Marlbrook, Sheffield, or Coolock.
Routes for progression post Apprenticeship completion:
Towards the end of your apprenticeship, the business will support you to apply for any suitable vacant roles in order to progress your career within Mondelez International.
Starting Date: Our Apprenticeship programs start every September, and for this role, you would start in September 2025.
Duration
Your Apprenticeship will be in line with your education, expected to be 4 years depending on the modules you study.
Education / Certifications:
Three A Levels at CCC or above including a Mathematics based subject and a STEM subject, or equivalent BTECs.
Closing date for applications is midday Friday 28th March 2025.
We will be holding our final stage assessment centre for this role in-person at our Bournville offices on the week commencing 28th April 2025. Reasonable travel expenses will be covered.
