Nvolve Recruitment are in search of a Planner / Pre-Construction Manager for our client a commercial construction main contractor. The Planner / Pre-Construction plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of construction projects by developing, managing, and optimizing project schedules during the pre-construction and planning stages. This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders, including clients, design teams, and contractors, to ensure that timelines, resources, and budgets align with project goals. Key Responsibilities: Planning and Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or Microsoft Project. Conduct critical path analyses to identify potential risks and delays, proposing mitigation strategies. Establish project milestones and monitor progress against baseline schedules. Pre-Construction Management: Lead the development of pre-construction deliverables, including project timelines, logistics plans, and work programs. Collaborate with design teams to ensure buildability, sequencing, and program feasibility. Assess and integrate client requirements, design constraints, and site-specific challenges into planning documentation. Risk Management: Identify and evaluate potential project risks, delays, and constraints, recommending proactive measures to mitigate impacts. Conduct scenario planning and “what-if” analyses to test various project execution strategies. Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers, to align project objectives. Attend pre-construction and project planning meetings, presenting schedules and progress updates. Cost and Resource Analysis: Collaborate with the commercial and estimating teams to align project budgets with schedules. Develop and analyze resource loading, ensuring sufficient labor, materials, and equipment availability. Documentation and Reporting: Produce detailed planning reports, schedules, and supporting documents for tender submissions and project management. Provide regular updates to senior management on project planning and pre-construction progress. Key Skills and Competencies: Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of planning software (Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, MS Project). Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex project data and develop actionable plans. Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying challenges and implementing solutions. Attention to Detail: Meticulous in maintaining accurate schedules and documentation. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).(Preferred not essential) Proven experience in project planning or pre-construction management within the construction industry. Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and sequencing. Familiarity with contract forms such as NEC, JCT, or other relevant frameworks. Experience with resource and cost-loaded programming is advantageous
