This is an exciting opportunity to work within an award-winning service that supports the emotional and mental health needs of young people up to the age of 19. As a senior member of the network of multi-disciplinary CAMHS teams across Heywood, Middleton, and Rochdale, you will manage the #Thrive Service to provide high-quality assessment and intervention of the mental health needs of children and young people.
Your responsibilities will include managing the service's clinicians, providing supervision for team members undertaking assessments and a range of interventions, and managing caseloads.
You will also develop and implement therapeutic plans of care for children and young people with mental health needs, support the service in delivering training and consultation to other children’s agencies, and liaise with other agencies regarding the implementation of care plans and risk management for children and young people. Additionally, you will promote and support mental health awareness in agencies supporting children and young people in HMR.
Main duties of the job
• To ensure high-quality clinical assessment of young people and their families referred to the #Thrive service.
• To manage and clinically supervise practitioners in managing their own caseloads.
• To be responsible for and manage a (reduced) defined caseload (as agreed with the Operational Manager) and undertake key-worker responsibilities within the caseload, making autonomous decisions concerning service delivery, risk management, referrals to other agencies, and discharge.
• To make independent clinical decisions about the appropriate therapeutic interventions for each young person, in accordance with individual assessed need, and to provide or facilitate access to this intervention, including those young people with learning difficulties.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
• To work strategically with the CAMHS Operational Manager, commissioning partners, and other agencies to continue to develop support and pathways across the services.
• To be responsible for the implementation of the stepped care CAMH service and Pennine Care NHS Trust standards and targets.
• To play a leading role in the strategic and operational direction of the service within Pennine Care and the CAMHS Directorate via Clinical and Social Care Governance Groups.
• To manage practitioners from a range of professional backgrounds within the service, recruit and support new staff, and implement HR processes and Pennine Care procedures.
• To clinically supervise the work of staff within the service.
• To keep the Operational Manager informed of developments and issues within the service.
Person specification
Experience
* Highly developed knowledge of mental health issues in young people.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and National Policies in relation to children and young people.
* Highly developed knowledge of a range of therapeutic interventions for this client group.
* Knowledge and experience of working with young people with learning disabilities.
* Evidence of post-qualifying training courses/certificates.
Education/Qualifications
* Registered Nurse – Mental Health with NMC registration/Social Worker with SW registration.
* Short courses and/or experience to post-graduate diploma level.
Knowledge
* Substantial experience of working within a health-delivered child and adolescent mental health outpatient/community service or Adult Mental Health Services.
* Experience of the CPA model.
* Experience of clinically supervising the work of others.
Skills and Abilities
* Ability to perform complex diagnostic assessments as an autonomous practitioner across a range of mental health conditions.
* Ability to develop packages of care based on assessed needs.

What happens after your application has been received?

What happens if I am offered the position after the interview?
The hiring manager will contact you to verbally offer you the position. The hiring manager will then inform Recruitment of the decision and provide relevant paperwork. You will be sent a formal conditional offer via email.

By conducting pre-employment checks, the recruitment team will verify that you meet the pre-conditions of the role you have been offered. Pre-employment checks will be carried out according to NHS Employment Check Standards. The checks are:
