Marriott's Medical Practices has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated medical secretary to join our excellent practice team working at both Bacon Road Medical Centre and Taverham Surgery, on a full time basis for 37.5 hours per week, but job share will also be considered.

Main duties of the job
* Provide an efficient document production service for GPs and the practice managers and other health professionals as required.
* Monitor hospital referral letters via the e-Referral system.
* Advise doctors of rejected referrals and ensure these are dealt with on a timely basis.
* Send 2WW (Two Week Wait) referrals by the appropriate system as presented and ensure the referral is recorded.
* Collect and maintain information concerning personal projects of doctor, e.g. research statistics, appraisals, disease incidence, at risk register, age/sex register.
* Deal with hospital enquiries results, appointments and enquiries/requests from solicitors, consultants and hospitals, relating to patients.
* Responsible for the photocopying of original documents when required.
* Maintain the system for recording requests for medical attendants reports, distributing the requests to the appropriate doctor, ensuring that the requests are returned promptly, raising the invoice where necessary and monitoring payments.
* Establish and maintain filing and administrative systems.
* Receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls.
* Receive and dispatch mail and maintain a pending system.
