As a Healthcare Assistant, you’ll work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or healthcare professional on one of our busy adult or child wards or outpatient areas. You will help our nurses and doctors at UHS, by offering the highest standards of personal care and support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Washing and dressing patients and aiding in their personal hygiene
2. Assisting patients to access and use toilet facilities
3. Serving meals and helping to feed patients
4. Helping patients to safely move around
5. Assisting with bed making, cleaning tasks, errands, or general duties
6. Collecting pathological specimens e.g., Urine, faeces, sputum
7. Making patients and their families feel comfortable
8. Monitoring and reporting patients’ conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight measurements
Qualifications
Essential criteria:
Ability to complete care certificate within 6 months of appointment.
Desirable criteria:
BTEC level 2 or above in health and social care. Interested in undertaking further training
Level 3 qualification; BTEC, L3 diploma, A levels.
