This role is in a specialist provision for children aged 11-19 who have experienced significant trauma, social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
There is a strong focus on holistic and restorative practices, creating empathy at every opportunity. The school prioritizes non-punitive measures and only uses manual handling training when absolutely necessary.
A practical trial day will take place in school to ensure the role is suitable for you, depending on your availability to start ASAP, your notice period, or if you are finishing university.

In addition, can you ensure the safety of the children? You will receive extensive SEN and safeguarding training, including MAPA Training. As an aspiring clinical psychologist, you will need to identify areas of genuine interest and where your skills need enhancement over the course of your qualification.
Responsibilities:
1. Support secondary-aged students with EHCPs, including those with Autism, OCD, and varying levels of social anxiety.
2. Engage in physical work while being pragmatic, making academic progress as each child's context allows.
3. Adapt to some anti-social behavior as part of the role in aiding society's most vulnerable children, with all training and support provided by the school.
4. Utilize various therapies and holistic processes, recognizing that even small progress is a success.
5. Understand and support students with Pathological Demand Avoidance and Pervasive Developmental Disorder.
6. Focus on diverse cognitive abilities across all ages, promoting positive engagement and a sense of acceptance.
7. Set objectives for students, fostering independence, especially for those in assisted living.
