Sussex County Cricket Club is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Sales Manager to join our dynamic team. The core aim of this role is to build a high-performing sales culture and leverage all elements of our sales engine. You’ll be responsible for proactively promoting and selling our diverse venue conference and banqueting facilities while exceeding revenue targets and enhancing customer experiences. Lead by example, embody our sales values, and implement strategic plans to drive business success.

What you’ll do:
Main Assignments:
* Achieving onsite M and E sales targets.
* Implementing effective sales strategies and initiatives.
* Engaging proactively with new and existing customers to maximise business opportunities.
* Driving the sales team toward the achievement of revenue targets through well-defined sales activity plans.
* Building strong relationships with key accounts and local businesses to expand market share.
* Collaborating with the broader Sodexo Live! team to capitalise on cross-business opportunities.
* Ensuring the consistent delivery of outstanding service to all clients and customers.
Financial Management:
* Meet and exceed budgeted M and E sales objectives and profit targets.
* Utilize commercial management tools (Priava, Salesforce, etc.) to drive proactive selling and revenue maximization.
* Analyse market trends to identify opportunities and challenges.
* Manage local key accounts and proactively lead sales initiatives to foster revenue growth.
Quality, Service, and Detail:
* Work closely with the Events and Operations team to deliver exceptional events and create further business opportunities.
* Conduct market analysis to stay informed about competitors and local market dynamics.
* Ensure accurate and appealing marketing materials are presented and maintained.
* Handle customer feedback and strive to enhance service quality.
People Management:
* Foster a high level of engagement, motivation, and morale within the sales team.
* Maintain and nurture excellent relationships with internal and external clients.
* Conduct regular personal development reviews for team members to monitor progress and set new goals.
The Ideal Candidate:
Essential
* A strong network in both stadia and the live events industry
* A strong understanding of the local market and competition including tourism
* Negotiation techniques to create Win-Win scenarios
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team
* Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting workloads and pressures
* A good researcher and client focussed approach
* Excellent telephone manner
* Confident presentation ability
* Excellent business relationship building skills and understanding of customer needs
* Excellent time management and organisational skills in order to prioritise various job demands
* Proven success in developing and executing pro-active sales and marketing initiatives with desired results
* Proven negotiation skills
