Project Manager (NEC3 / NEC4)
Location: Near to Ipswich
Duration: Initially running for 6 months (extensions are expected)
IR35: Inside
Rate: Negotiable around £45/hour
The Role:
As a Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be, but are not limited to:
1. Defining the detailed scope to be delivered and the interfaces to the other elements of the programme.
2. Working with stakeholders and contract partners to develop a robust project programme ensuring relevant interfaces are clearly identified and managed.
3. Development and management of the project budget including monthly expenditure monitoring and reporting.
4. Development of a robust risk management plan, identification and management of specific risks and opportunities including progressing mitigation actions.
5. Securing the required resources to meet project requirements, promptly identifying any resource shortfalls or issues within the project or contract partner teams.
6. Maintaining project governance arrangements including definition of project review gates, preparation of materials for gate reviews and organisation of gate reviews.
7. Develop and maintain effective communications with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
8. Anticipating, managing, and resolving issues within the contract or package. Identifying risks and facilitating the resolution of all issues raised, developing, and updating the programme budget, and escalating any issues to the Senior Project Manager.
9. Ensuring that lessons-learnt and knowledge-capture are practiced as business as usual.
10. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all project team members.
Experience:
1. Ideally degree qualification in project management, management, construction, engineering, or other relevant discipline.
2. Professional Qualification in Project Management such as APM PMQ or other recognised qualification.
3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Project Management and working knowledge and management experience of construction activities.
4. Demonstrated experience of managing major projects from concept to handover, throughout the project lifecycle within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety, security, and environmental responsibility, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.
5. Demonstrated success in managing and/or developing engineering design and contract execution strategies for project delivery.
6. Control of costs, risk, schedule, and change.
7. Proven successful experience in engaging multi-level stakeholders including contractors, consultants, and advisors.
8. Working knowledge of CDM Regulations.
9. Proficient numeracy, analytical and critical reasoning skills.
10. Understanding the needs of nuclear quality and how nuclear quality is assured and controlled.
11. Understand how to apply a graded approach to quality.
12. Experience operating within NEC and FIDIC commercial arrangements.
13. Working knowledge of French language an advantage.
