About the role
We are seeking a talented professional to design, create, and develop our pricing capabilities, playing a pivotal role in evolving our Pricing Technical Strategy. Collaborating closely with the Pricing Leadership Team, you'll drive innovation and deliver technical solutions that enhance pricing accuracy, optimise premium strength, and provide vital insights into cost drivers.
As a key player in our team, you will work alongside Pricing Managers and Department Heads to develop and refine technical solutions that ensure fair and accurate pricing across our product range. Your expertise will help maintain independence and ensure that our pricing strategy aligns with our overall strategic objectives. You'll lead the creation and delivery of effective pricing solutions, adhering to departmental standards and quality benchmarks while shaping the future direction of the NFUM Pricing function.
You'll have the opportunity to design, implement, and improve testing frameworks that guarantee the integrity and accuracy confidence of our rate models. You'll also contribute to our continuous improvement efforts, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of market best practices and regulatory compliance.
As an ambassador for our Pricing function, you'll build and nurture relationships with senior stakeholders across NFU Mutual, including Underwriting, Claims, and IT departments. By influencing key strategic programmes, you will strengthen confidence in our pricing decisions and ensure the successful delivery of objectives.
In addition to your primary responsibilities, you may occasionally lead or influence dotted-line reports, depending on project needs. You'll work closely with peers and Pricing Consultants to manage dynamic control cycles, ensuring the quality of premium strength, risk accumulation, and model outputs are monitored and optimised.
About you
We're seeking a skilled pricing professional with significant experience gained within a general insurance pricing function. You'll be able to demonstrate strong expertise in SQL and Emblem software, with additional experience in Radar and Guidewire being highly desirable.
You'll have a proven track record in pricing implementation, combined with the ability to coach and mentor team members, setting clear direction for junior team members, and peer-review work to ensure accuracy and quality.
With experience leading projects and software testing, you'll demonstrate a proactive and forward-thinking approach with the confidence to voice ideas and contribute to the strategic direction of the pricing team.
You will also be able to demonstrate the following:
• Effective communication skills with the ability to present information impactfully
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, particularly when engaging with senior-level professionals
• Strong critical and logical thinking skills, enabling effective problem-solving and sound decision-making.
