Job summary Due a unforeseen circumstances we are now in position to re-advertise for the role of Medical Secretary. Springwood Surgery are looking to recruit a part-time Medical Secretary to join our surgery team. The post is currently for 24 hours per week. We are a busy general practice so we are looking for someone who can work under pressure and on their own initiative. Training will be given to the successful candidate. Main duties of the job The role of a Medical Secretary includes preparing agendas and taking minutes of meetings, actioning patient referrals, requests for medical records, invoicing, communicating with secondary care and other healthcare agencies. A medical secretary will also communicate with patients directly and therefore it is imperative that patients are greeted in a cheerful and friendly manner. We have a patient list size of just less than 8000 patients. We are a friendly, dynamic and supportive team of six GP Partners, three practice nurses, two healthcare assistants and one phlebotomist. We also have a vastly experienced administration team and are a high achieveing practice in both the Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF) and Investing and Impact Funding (IIF).
