Skanska, one of the world’s leading project development and construction groups, is recruiting for an Assistant Planner for the M42. The M42 project is a significant infrastructure initiative in the United Kingdom aimed at improving traffic flow and reducing congestion around Junction 6 of the M42 motorway near Solihull. This area is crucial as it connects various key routes, including access to Birmingham Airport and the National Exhibition Centre (NEC).
You’ll:
1. Assist in maintaining and updating the main project programme, helping to prepare programme submission documents and internal reporting.
2. Work with the project team and suppliers to produce, challenge and maintain collaborative short-term programmes that align with the main programme.
3. Ensure that the lookahead/supplier programmes are accurate and monitor supplier KPI’s.
4. Lead collaborative planning and short-term programme sessions.
5. Assist with the development of 4D planning.
6. Utilize construction experience and technical understanding of engineering principles, construction techniques, and best practices.
7. Develop short-term programmes for a section of works.
8. Understand the time impact of typical construction risks and opportunities.
9. Have knowledge of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment, and labour requirements.
