Installation Electrician
The successful applicant will be working UK wide on exciting new utility installation projects and carrying out annual testing and inspections of existing installations. They will be working as part of a team for the installations, to position and connect packaged plant systems. The connections will be made up of electrical, water and wastewater connections. The electrics can be taken from existing single and three phase units or may be from newly installed meters provided by utility companies.
When working on installations they will ensure the proper installation of SWA electric cable runs at either high level, perimeter attached, or entrenched. When the water station is connected, they will then test and issue a safety certificate for the installation.
As part of the installations team, the operative will also help with other aspects of the installation, including excavations and water pipe runs, when required.
Functions
1. Undertaking work assigned by the connections manager.
2. Working safely to identify the best point of connection and connecting electrical cables.
3. Running cables and pipes on pre-determined routes to allow connection of packaged plant.
4. Ensuring all connections are left safe, lock offs used, and caps fitted.
5. Maintaining all company issued equipment.
6. Assessing risk and determining best practice for installations.
7. Ordering stock as needed for connections.
8. Working with digging and reinstatement teams to get sites progressed quickly.
9. Working closely with project coordinators to ensure the smooth running of installs.
10. Installation of Smart Meters.
11. Annual Safety Inspections.
Required Skills
1. Good knowledge of single and three phase electrics.

3. Willingness to upskill and tackle more advanced installations.
4. City and Guilds 18th edition.
