Opkill Pest Control Limited is a successful growing business within the Midlands, South West, and Northern England, and now in Phoenix, USA.
A new and exciting opportunity has been made available for a Level 2 qualified pest control technician to join our growing team in Lichfield/Derbyshire.
Candidates with no previous experience or qualifications may be considered with suitable transferable skills in building and landscaping.

The area of work will mainly be between Lichfield and Derbyshire, but occasionally also in our other business areas as required.
You'll be experienced at using chemicals and equipment to deal with an array of insects and animals such as rats, mice, foxes, moles, and birds. Competent in identifying and carrying out remedial work (proofing).
Full knowledge of H&S in the industry with a valid Level 2 certificate and your CPD points certificate for 2024.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
* Investigating and identifying pests
* Finding out how pests are getting in
* Choosing a method of control
* Spraying chemicals to get rid of insects
* Laying poison and traps or using air guns to control birds and animals
* Repairing an area to stop pests returning
* Advising people how to prevent further problems
* Completing reports and keeping records
* Handling and storing chemicals
* Getting rid of dead or captured animals
You'll need/must have:
* The right attitude to want to be successful in your role
* The conviction to study in your own time to help pass mandatory industry qualifications and updating your training skills.
* Excellent customer service skills
* A full, clean driving licence
* Confidence with maths for calculating doses of chemicals
* Practical skills to investigate problems
* Knowledge of or willingness to learn correct health and safety and legislation for the industry
* Knowledge of or willingness to learn how chemicals affect the environment
* Basic building skills are also advantageous.
Your normal working day is Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, although during the summer, out of hours work is common and offered. Your day, on occasion, will go beyond 5:00 pm to complete customer needs. Your average working week is 37.5 hours.
You'll often work alone, driving to jobs in a van.
You will work indoors or outside. You may need to crawl into confined spaces and climb ladders on occasion, so you need to be proficient with confined spaces and working at heights.
Package
Depending on previous skills, qualifications, and experience, your starting basic will be between £25,000 - £26,500 (depending on experience). There are additional pay rises for passing your probation, additional training if needed, and commission and overtime.
Expected 1st year OTE would be between £28,000 - £31,000.
(Please note, salaries quoted are for L2 starters, starting salary is £24,000)
