We are recruiting for an Infrastructure Platform Engineer (On-Prem) Consultant for a permanent, on-site role.
Requirements
* Specialized in on-premise management of platforms, applications, data, and infrastructure as a system administrator.
* Developing automation for continuous delivery using suitable technologies.
* Configuring infrastructure as a service to automate environment setup.
* Building and setting up development tools and infrastructure.
* Understanding stakeholder needs and communicating with developers.
* Automating and improving development and release processes.
* Testing and analyzing code written by others.
* Ensuring system security against cyber threats, familiar with NCSC principles.
* Managing security aspects like secrets, tokens, certificates.
* Collaborating with Architects, Data, and Software Engineers to ensure process adherence.
* Project planning and involvement in management decisions.
* Design, security, and maintenance of on-prem infrastructure.
* Making informed decisions, explaining technical choices clearly, resolving disputes.
* Effective communication across organizational and technical boundaries.
* Knowledge of data exposure, linking systems, streaming services.
* Understanding deployment risks and documentation.
Ideal Candidates will demonstrate:
* Experience working with cybersecurity teams.
* Infrastructure design experience for on-prem environments.
* Assessment skills for technology choices and innovative approaches.
* Experience in software change management and governance.
* Proficiency with containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), provisioning tools (Ansible, Terraform), and performance monitoring.
* Experience with testing, automated deployment, and standards like the government digital service manual.
* Knowledge of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and their implications.
* Ability to train and support others.
* Experience managing live systems, incidents, and defects.
* Teamwork in multidisciplinary projects.
* Experience with Terraform and automation tools for containerized applications.
* Monitoring and instrumentation expertise.
* Experience with SAST/DAST tools like Trivvy, SonarQube, and DevOps tooling.
This role requires Security Clearance or willingness to obtain it. Candidates will complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard check.
