Role & Responsibilities:
As a KS3 Maths Teacher, you will:
Plan and Deliver Engaging Lessons: Create and deliver well-structured, engaging, and dynamic lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles. Ensure lessons are tailored to the KS3 curriculum, promoting students' understanding and interest in mathematics.
Assess and Monitor Student Progress: Use a range of assessment methods to track and report on student progress. Provide regular feedback to students, identifying areas for improvement and offering support to help them reach their full potential.
Promote a Positive Learning Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages student participation, builds confidence, and enhances learning. Implement effective classroom management techniques to maintain a focused and productive environment.
Differentiate Learning: Cater to the individual needs of students, providing tailored support for those who may need extra help and offering extension activities for more able students.
Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with other members of the maths department and teaching staff to share best practices, develop new strategies, and ensure a consistent approach to teaching and learning across the school.
Support Pastoral and Extracurricular Activities: Contribute to the wider school community by supporting pastoral care, and potentially leading or participating in extracurricular activities, such as maths clubs or tutoring.
Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to enhance your teaching skills and stay up-to-date with the latest educational practices and curriculum changes.
What We’re Looking For:
Right to work in the UK
Classroom experience is desirable (though not essential for enthusiastic applicants)
DBS registered on the update system, or willingness to obtain one
Flexible and adaptable to work in a variety of classroom settings
QTS/PGCE or equivalent qualification (unqualified teachers are also welcome to apply)
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Passion for mathematics and the ability to inspire and engage students
