Job Title: Yard Supervisor
Location: Walsall WS2 9PL Initially then WS10 7DE when new site opens!
Annual Salary: £42,000
Shift: Not Confirmed - Need Flexibility!
Working Hours: 40 hours

Manpower is hiring for a permanent Yard Supervisor for our fantastic client, offering brand new facilities, kit, and a chance to be a part of a growing company making a difference!
Our clients distribution sites are referred to as "Microsites" and are located across the region. Using a fleet of vans & drivers these sites supply fresh cooking oils to the restaurant, takeaway and catering trade and collect used cooking oils for production of products destined biofuel and renewable electricity at the regional processing site.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Operational Leadership:
Scheduling of incoming and outgoing loads
Responsible for the accurate reporting of inbound loads (weight, type, number of containers)
Responsible for the creation of outbound Waste Transfer Notes
Implement company policies and procedures
Delegates operational tasks so that loading deadlines can be met
Communicate expectations of the site manager to the team.
Produce and monitor daily paperwork for the collation of accurate data
To attend weekly planning meetings
Highlight and address issues that may cause disruption to the flow of material on and off site
Manages the flow of paperwork to allow for clear and accurate reporting
Logging of all visitors onto site
Housekeeping of the yard and office
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
Support a Safety-First culture and through education, coaching and compliance develop the behaviours and safety processes, to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and visitors.
Ensure primary containment is adhered to meet environmental performance standards and maintain compliance.
Reporting of any incident / accident that occurs
Quality Control and Compliance:
Implement and maintain control procedures to ensure that the processed oil meets all required specifications and regulatory standards.
Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential areas for improvement and address any non-compliance issues.
Team Development:
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning among staff.
Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team.
Mentor teams and staff with best practices acquired through experience and learning.
What we'll need from you:
ILM Level 2 Minimum (Desirable)
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent (Desirable)
Full UK Driving licence
CPC (Desirable)
Experience in supervising yard/transport operations within a processing or manufacturing environment, preferably in liquids or oil processing industries.
Strong understanding of process optimisation, quality control, and safety regulations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyse data, make informed decisions, and solve problems effectively.
Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices is a plus.
Experience of working in a regulated industry (desirable)
