Role Summary The Associate Director, HTA sub-team lead, will be responsible for managing complex HTA submissions (NICE, SMC, AWMSG, JCVI) from start to finish, managing and mentoring a small team of HTA experts and driving HTA strategy across a portfolio of launch and pipeline assets. The HTA sub-team lead is a highly visible role in the UK and global HEOR and market access organisation. Besides having strong technical, problem solving and project management skills. The HTA sub-team lead, must have good people management skills, lead on above brand reimbursement and HTA environment shaping projects and be able to communicate complex economic concepts in a clear and impactful way to the business and build relationships with external stakeholders. Role Responsibilities Strategic Partnership Based on the changing reimbursement environment provide guidance on the implementation of health economic and outcomes research (HEOR) evidence generation strategies to support the value proposition of medicine or vaccine assets Lead on above brand HTA reimbursement projects to inform or shape the way we develop HTA submissions in the future. Partner across global, medical and corporate affairs as appropriate Work in collaboration with the market access, medical and commercial teams to ensure the HEOR activities are aligned with the end-to-end market access strategy Be an ambassador for Access & Value (A&V) as an HTA expert internally (cross-functionally at a UK and global level) and externally Health Economics & HTA Design & develop complex health economic models for inclusion in a HTA for NICE, SMC, AWMSG or JCVI and Budget Impact Models for discussions with NHSE Be responsible for managing HTA submission strategies and development of all materials for NICE or JCVI from start to finish Provide strategic and/or technical input into outcome study designs, RWE collection, economic models; evidence synthesis projects as well as pricing and HTA readiness activities Guide the development of early economic models and support the HTA team to identify and share cross-functionally the areas of biggest uncertainty needing resolution for reimbursement as well as find creative solutions to address uncertainty. Quality assurance of HTA Projects Responsible for reviewing of HTA strategies and submission materials across your business unit(s) Conduct regular review points during, and after, the HTA submissions (or touch points with academics and KOLs) to ensure any learnings are embed within the HTA team People management Oversee the development and delivery of HEOR plans and provide clear guidance for your HTA sub-team to maximise business impact across the portfolio Bring rigour to the management of HTA vendor budget management, timelines and deliverables In partnership with the HTA Team Lead, ensure HTA resources are deployed effectively to ensure business continuity and transformative potential Alongside the HTA Team Lead, lead recruitment, coaching/mentoring, and training of the HTA team Continue to embed a strong team culture, bring ‘Joy’ to work and optimise productivity through support of personal development Role Qualifications, Experience & Skills Qualifications Postgraduate qualification in Health Economics or Outcomes Research or Infectious disease modelling Experience Demonstrable experience in all aspects of several HTA submissions to JCVI, NICE & SMC Experience of designing, building, and adapting health economics models for medicines, infectious disease and/or vaccines Significant experience of conducting evidence generation (SLRs, NMAs, ITCs) Thorough understanding of the UK healthcare system Line management and/or mentoring colleagues Developing innovative solutions to health economic/market access challenges Skills Strong research skills, with ability to build, adapt and critique health economic models and source data inputs. Experience working with infectious disease/vaccine models preferred.
