SEO Manager
Location – Remote – 1 day a week in Manchester City Centre Office

Simpson Millar is currently looking to recruit an experienced SEO Manager to be based remotely with 1 day a week in our prestigious Manchester City Centre Office.
As an experienced SEO manager, you will be responsible for working with the Head of Digital to develop, plan and implement Simpson Millar’s overall SEO strategy. You will have a proven track record of implementing successful SEO strategies with demonstrable results. You will analyse performance make recommendations for improving visibility of key commercial search terms supporting our aggressive growth plan whilst tracking and reporting on end-to-end performance.
Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Helping to plan, develop and implement our SEO strategy
2. Work towards improving our organic search optimisation and ROI maximisation to defined SEO KPIs such as traffic and rankings
3. Regularly perform thorough keyword research
4. Monitor redirects, click rate, bounce rate, and other KPIs
5. Measure and report performance of all organic digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
6. Identify problems and deficiencies, implementing solutions in a timely manner
7. Work with our development agency to suggest improvements to improve the visibility of the site and elements to improve our SEO performance
8. Work on a continual programme of CRO and UX performance improvements to drive new business and engagement
9. Guide content team through keyword research and feed into the wider content strategy aligning the output to improvements
10. Review content strategy and work with Content Manager to provide guidance to the wider team to improve rankings, traffic and conversion
11. Oversee off-page optimisation including link-building
12. Optimise campaigns working with social media and PPC Manager.
13. Stay up to date with the latest SEO and digital marketing latest trends and best practices
14. Work with the Head of Digital to implement the agreed strategy for digital client acquisition and retention
15. Be a key contact working with our Content and PR teams to build the online profile of our lawyers and the Simpson Millar brand
You will have the following Key Competencies:
16. In-depth knowledge of various platforms, Google Analytics including GA4, Google Search Console, SEM Rush and CMS platforms, preferably Umbraco.
17. In-depth knowledge of SEO principles and methods with experience in analysing data and making recommendations based on the information
18. Expertise in A/B and other testing methods
19. Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the firm’s success
20. Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
21. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills building relationships with key stakeholders
22. Consumer awareness - quick to understand our audience and support the lead generation for client acquisition
23. Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
24. Ability to think strategically as well as tactically in faced paced environment
25. Exceptional eye for detail
26. Work to strict deadlines
Essential Key Skill Requirements:
27. Minimum 5 years of experience as SEO Manager or similar role
28. 8 years of experience in planning and implementing a successful SEO strategy
29. Qualification in SEO Optimisation or relevant field.
30. Up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in digital marketing.
