Ipswich Borough Council are looking to recruit a Facilities and Market Assistant to support the running of the Ipswich Market, Town Hall and Corn Exchange.
The successful applicant will need to be self-motivated with good interpersonal and customer skills to engage with traders and members of the public.
The position involves a variety of duties including set up and break down of rooms and equipment within the venue and market area, ensuring safe working practices, carrying out general housekeeping and cleaning duties, as well as promoting and maintain good relations with stakeholders, contractors, tenants, and market traders.
The post requires the successful applicant to hold a current, full, and clean driving license and be able to undertake manual handling tasks.
You’ll be expected to work weekends with early starts and have a level of flexibility on working hours.
Annualised Hours (annualised hours equivalent to 21.46 hours per week)
5% of hours will incur enhanced rate of pay for unsocial hours between 10pm and 6am at time and 1/3.
The selection process will be an interview. Interviews will be held on week commencing 1st April 2025
