Fantastic contract opportunity for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager Morson is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our client's flagship site in Crawley, where they have been providing equipment and services to the Ministry of Defence since 1964. Our client's workplace boasts a range of key capabilities, including the British Army's Watchkeeper Unmanned Air System, Electronic Warfare for the Royal Navy, military training and simulation, Counter-IED protection, civil aerospace connectivity, and secure military communications. Purpose of the Role: Reporting to the Domain Quality Manager, this role provides Quality Assurance to assigned projects, bids and products, delivering cost effective, efficient solutions to meet Customer / partner requirements and business objectives. Liaising with associated disciplines, functions and Subject Matter Experts, key activities include: QA planning and surveillance, internal/external auditing to national standards, attendance at project meetings, reviews and events, Customer liaison and Supplier / Partner surveillance and the provision of QA expertise and advice. The role may cover operational (manufacturing), software, hardware and systems engineering QA activities and include root cause analysis, defect analysis, process improvement, preventative action and process management activities. This role may include occasional working at other sites in the UK and abroad and also work off-site at Customer or Supplier establishments. Responsibilities and Tasks Include but are not limited to: Plan and Implement Quality Assurance on assigned Projects in accordance with Company Reference system, Contract and applicable Regulatory Requirements. Act as QA source of knowledge within the team with relevant experience of sector specific and industry standards. Lead project QA activities to ensure that Quality tasks are carried out in accordance with agreed Work Packages. Plan and perform project audits and surveillance activities in accordance with the Project Quality Plans and audit strategy. Effective generation, assurance and management of non-conformances, with realistic stage target dates and actions agreed with NCR owners. Timely raising of Alerts when appropriate with escalation, as required, in order to reduce risks to the business. Skills and Knowledge - Auditing Skills - trained auditor with experience of auditing Thales functions and projects. - Quality Standards and methods - knowledge of international standards and methods applicable to the role such as ISO-9001, AS9100, DO-178, DO-254, AQAP, civil and military standards. The ability to apply this knowledge to bids, projects and daily tasks. - Interpersonal Skills - the ability to communicate effectively with peers and act within a team environment. - Analytical skills - the ability to analyse data and trends effectively and advise effective rectification action - Operational experience - experienced in projects, bids, engineering, manufacturing and supply chain management. Experience: Essential 5 years experience of working within a quality environment in industry. Detailed knowledge of current quality and related working practices and standards. Qualified auditor or similar experience. Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance.
