Technical Vendor Manager, GES-EMEA Operations Engineering

We are looking to hire a talented and committed Technical Vendor Manager for our growing Engineering team to play a critical role in managing Amazon's fast growth and technology innovation needs.
Amazon is seeking an experienced and business-oriented Technical Vendor Manager to lead the E2E vendor development and engagement which includes capacity planning and delivery of key Material Handling Equipment (MHE) supply chains for the continued expansion of our EMEA fulfillment network. Successful candidates will have strong ownership and be highly motivated individuals with wide Engineering Program and Project Management experience.
The role will understand the details of an Amazon Fulfillment Center and will deep dive on key MHE project delivery and performance by working closely with equipment suppliers, Global Procurement, and several Engineering teams. This individual will be responsible for managing the overall vendor development program focusing on critical paths to ensure on-time delivery and accelerate our end-to-end project timing.
The Technical Vendor Manager will have a high work capacity, bias for action, and proven experience in Program and Stakeholder Management. This individual needs to be comfortable interfacing and driving various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization. Work with external vendors and internal teams to deliver CAPEX projects safely, on time, and on cost.

Key job responsibilities
1. Lead overall end-to-end technical vendor management to deliver large scale projects.
2. Evaluate and simplify current working procedures and improve organization team structure.
3. Lead technical program reviews and drive schedule acceleration and cost savings.
4. Deep dive on technical details and lead problem resolution as needed.
5. Communicate project status, drive and elevate decision making, and help requests.
6. Lead critical path schedule items and escalate to leadership on potential risks and delays.
7. Be a business partner with the Procurement and Engineering team, driving execution of commercial and technical deliverables.
8. Work closely with Engineering / Project Delivery Teams and own delivery of equipment to site.
9. Assist in providing equipment projections to procurement and partner for best value and competition.
10. Coordinate information between various teams in the organization.
11. Own and develop opportunities for process optimization to drive impact in the internal team/organization and external/vendor organizations.
12. Ability to understand Operational processes.
13. Ability to travel up to 50% across projects in EMEA and Emerging Countries.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. University Degree, B.S./B.Eng or Masters, in Engineering (or science/technology related subject).
2. Proven technical leadership experience in development and implementation of large scale, complex projects.
3. Fluency in English required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Working knowledge of using MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, BIM360, Smart Sheet, and other related software.
2. Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills.
3. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels.
4. Theoretical and practical knowledge of Lean techniques such as Kaizen or Six Sigma.
5. Technical expertise - Solution-driven approach to systems & processes.
6. Experience with analytical tools and engineering software is desirable.
7. Masters degree in (Industrial/Mechanical) Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
8. Ability to speak multiple languages including German, French, Polish, Arabic, Turkish, Afrikaans, and Zulu is desirable.
