We have an exciting opportunity for an Emergency Out of Hours Vet Surgeon to join our OOH service providing exceptional care for our own clients as well as other feeder practices within the area. For this position we are open to discussing 7 on, 14 off OR 3-4 nights p/w rota patterns (to include weekend hours as well as week day).
The Role
Our dedicated night team of Vets and Nurses provide the ‘Vetcall’ service for Plymouth between the hours of 6.30pm and 8.30am. A twilight nurse team bridges the day and night teams and we pride ourselves on having dedicated support for worried owners overnight with the Night Nurse and Night Vet remaining on site at all times for inpatient care and any emergencies that may occur.
We are looking for someone with a real passion for emergency work and experience in handling surgeries and critical patients. We fully encourage CPD and further qualifications and pride ourselves in fostering a learning environment for all staff to be able to reach their full potential.
The Hospital
Plymouth Veterinary Group is a first-opinion multi-site practice with a flagship hospital and branch surgeries covering all areas of the city. Our hospital provides 24/7 care 365 days a year as well as providing an out-of-hours service for other feeder practices within Plymouth. It is well equipped with Digital X-ray, Ultrasound, Laparoscopy, and other diagnostic equipment enabling most first opinion cases to be treated in-house as well as accepting referrals for exotics. The size of our network ensures that support, advice and guidance from the wider team is always on hand.
The City
Plymouth is Britain’s Ocean City and presents excellent opportunities for land and water-based activities as well as a vibrant cultural scene, with good access to the Southwest or Europe. There are not many better cities in which to live and work so if you are looking to relocate, we can offer you full support with this too.
