Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join a large secondary school in Croydon. This role is crucial in helping students manage their behaviour, stay engaged in learning, and develop positive coping strategies.
The successful candidate will work closely with the pastoral team, SENCo, and teaching staff, supporting students both in and out of the classroom to ensure they receive the guidance and encouragement needed to succeed.
- Provide 1:1 mentoring and small group support to students experiencing behavioural challenges
- Work closely with teachers to help maintain engagement and positive behaviour in lessons
- Support students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, helping them develop confidence and resilience
- Supervise inclusion rooms and reflection spaces, ensuring a structured and supportive environment
- Assist with behaviour intervention strategies to promote positive decision-making and emotional regulation
- Work alongside pastoral staff, Heads of Year, and external agencies to provide well-rounded student support
- Previous experience in behaviour support, mentoring, or pastoral roles in a secondary school setting
- Strong behaviour management skills and ability to de-escalate challenging situations
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students
- Ability to engage and motivate students with a proactive attitude
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
- Full-time role, Monday to Friday
- Paid up to £125 per day, term time only
- Based in Croydon, London, with excellent transport links
- Immediate start, with potential for a long-term placement
