Occupational Therapist Frailty Specialist
We are looking for dynamic and inspiring Occupational Therapist to join the Acute Response Team at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
You'll become part of a supportive team and service as well as working within a cohesive Geriatric multi-disciplinary team.

The Acute Occupational Therapy service has been dedicated to transforming our services to facilitate our Occupational Therapists to use their skills to maximum potential.
The Older people's services work within the Acute Response Team providing specialist assessment and interventions for patients admitted with a new event impacting on their ability to engage in the occupations that are important to them, supporting them to regain their independence or find ways to manage activities that are important to them to be able to leave the hospital. You will have a passion for supporting older people to live their best life and be an essential part of the MDT.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to older adults in an acute setting, supporting their independence and facilitating timely hospital discharge. You'll work collaboratively with Front Door Frailty Teams, Hospital at Home services, and wider multidisciplinary teams to ensure a seamless and efficient patient journey.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
* Registration with HCPC
Experience
* Documented evidence of continuing professional development
* Clinical experience in a relevant area
* Ability to work autonomously and set priorities for the team and service in the absence of the Team Leader
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Working with people with dementia
* Experience in a variety of settings including acute hospital setting, using positive risk taking
* Experience supervising others
* Implementing a range of standardised and/or non-standardised assessments to include cognitive assessments and interpretation of performance.
* Knowledge of frailty and associated indicators such as falls
